FEP coated thermowells
Here at Adtech, we use a variety of technologies and materials to encapsulate temperature sensors.
In industries where temperature measurement is necessary, such as the food & drink and automotive sectors, the majority of consideration is given to the type of temperature sensor that will be used and not how to protect it. This is where our FEP coated thermowells can help.
What is a thermowell?
A thermowell is a component which is designed to surround a temperature sensor, working to protect it from any harsh process conditions, such as chemicals and high temperatures. A thermowell is permanently mounted into a piece of pipe and the temperature sensor is inserted inside when necessary. Though an often forgotten about accessory when it comes to temperature management, if you emit to using a thermowell it is very likely that the sensor will become damaged and have a lesser life span as a result.
Benefits of FEP coated thermowells:
There are a number of materials that can be used to make a thermowell, but in order to guarantee the best protection, a number of questions must be considered to help you decide.
- Will the thermowell be able to withstand the very high/low temperatures?
- Will the thermowell deteriorate during the process?
- Will the thermowell be strong enough to resist high impact forces?
- Will the thermowell respond to changes in temperature at a satisfactory speed?
Here at Adtech, our FEP is the ideal material for encapsulating a thermowell, harbouring a number of beneficial properties, such as:
- Chemical resistance
- Weather resistance
- High impact strength
- Non-stick coating
- Thermal functionality
- Useful in all environments

Testimonial - PFA Tube - Steam Locomotive
Thank you for all your help with my problem with my flexible pipe work with
which you assisted me greatly.
I actually steamed my locomotive successfully yesterday using your 5mm ID x
6mm OD flexible PFA tubing. Very successful as I say but I will possibly
need to replace it at some future date. I do not want to be constant source
of nuisance so I will see how it behaves this year. If I require one more
sample length I will be in touch.
If ever I am in your area I will certainly call in to see you. You have been
Many thanks once again.
Caroline Mills completes Stroud Half Marathon
Just one half marathon in a four week stretch is not enough for Caroline! She has also taken part in our local half marathon in and around Stroud, Gloucestershire. For those of you who aren't familar with the area it's extremely hilly.
Yet again she beat a PB!
Caroline Mills completes Cheltenham Half Marathon
Congratulations to Caroline for completing the Cheltenham Half Marathon this year and beating her PB!

Adtech Bake Off 2018 - Fifth Entry
Yeah! It's bake off day again, we've had two days of cake sampling this week. Today was the turn of Caroline Mills who's part of our client relations team.
We were spoilt with flapjacks topped with chocolate and crunchy honeycomb, which were quirkily presented in cheerful paper bags. Top marks for that idea.
