1. Select sheath of the appropriate diameter and tip style, then cut to
length approx 10% shorter than the length to be covered (sheath length
increases during shrinkage)
2.Push onto probe, forcing tip to the very end of the sheath.
3. Using 1kW or more hot air gun, shrink down the sheath from the tip end
working along the length. Do not start at the other end or the middle as air
will be trapped under the sheath and is very difficult to remove! If
possible rotate the probe shaft while shrinking. The shrinking process is
almost instantaneous, therefore avoid over heating
4. If the probe is long (over 1000mm), take care to allow FEP sheath to
increase in length If it becomes constricted, wrinkles may occur in the
shrunk portion
5. Bending - If a bend is required in the probe, this is easily done after
shrinking the sheath in place. Use as large a radius as possible, not less
than 10 times the probe diameter. Simply bend while cold over a soft
surfaced mandrel.
