NEW FEP LINED COPOLYMER TUBE
ADTECH can now offer FEP lined dual wall extruded tube. This product was developed for the automotive industry as non permeable fuel lines for petrol driven cars and vans. The FEP liner offering very low permeability to hydrocarbon fluids. By utilising a thin inner wall of FEP and an outer wall of a tough low cost plastic such as nylon , a lower cost, but higher performance tubing can be made. The outer wall is tough and abrasion resistant and gives good burst pressure with light weight and thinner overall wall thickness.
As well as the automotive industry, this tubing is finding use in the food industry in drink dispensing (FEP is FDA approved) and also airless paint spraying.
Like for like the tubing is less costly than plain FEP.
NEW MEDICAL PRODUCTION FACILITY
Adtech are pleased to announce the opening of our new medical product facility at our Stroud site. The new clean area is specifically been installed for the manufacture of parts used in medical disposable devices. Products and components for the medical industry are becoming a major new part of Adtech's product portfolio.

NEW PRODUCT LAUNCH
Adtech launches range of heat shrinkable fluoroplastic boots & sleeves for chemical instrument probe covering. These sleeves take the form of a heat shrink PTFE or FEP sleeve with a moulded tip at one end. This can be slid over a standard probe (e.g. thermocouple or capacitance etc.) and shrunk down in minutes giving a fully chemically resistant result.

These probes will be available ex-stock to fit probes from 3 to 13 mm diameters and as 1 or 2 metre lengths. Longer lengths and larger diameters can be supplied to order.
New Lamp Shatterproof Coating Process Announced
Adtech have developed a new process for "In-House" coating of White light and UV light fluorescent tubes. Based on the technology used by Adtech to coat lamps for customers, it enables distributors to shatterproof their own lamps in their own premises. Savings are made for the customer in material cost, logistical problems are eliminated all at extremely low investment.
Adtech will supply a heat shrinking unit, Adtex-P heat-shrink sleeve for white light and Adtex-S for UV light.
Tedlar Textured Gas Sampling Bags
We are pleased to announce that we can now offer sampling bags made from textured Tedlar PVF film. The textured surface allows complete evacuation of the gases between samplings by preventing the inner surfaces of the sticking together after evacuation and trapping gases in the bag.
Any size of bag can be made with this technique, recently a series of bags up to 2.5 x 2.5 metres were made with textured surfaces for vehicle emission testing
FEP Film Stock
We are pleased to announce that we will be stocking & distributing FEP film in a variety of thicknesses from 0.002" to 0.020" We will offer a cutting and slitting service for customers who need smaller quantities. FEP film is very transparent, resistant to UV radiation as well as virtually all chemicals.
Factory Expansion in Scotland
Adtech Scotland have moved to a brand new purpose built facility in Lochgelly Scotland. With views across country to the Lomond Hills, this is a pleasant environment for working. The larger premises will enable us to substantially increase our production of Roll covers, heat shrinkable fluoroplastics, and PTFE products for the process industries. Also development of new products and processes will be introduced.
PTFE Filled Greases
We are pleased to announce that Adtech are the UK distributors of Fluortek PTFE(R) PTFE grease
This grease was developed in Sweden by Fluortek AB for the harsh requirements of the Swedish military, and other applications. Military equipment in Sweden has to face conditions in the arctic circle. This grease gives long life lubrication from the FEP in cold, hot , wet, conditions.

Lamp Covering Developments
We are pleased to announce two new lamp coating developments:
Circline - circular fluorescent UV lamps can now be coated in low loss fluoroplastic. Only 3% loss of UV-A (compared with competitive coatings which adsorb 17% of UV-A light), and 15% loss of UV-C. The new coating Adtex-s has an infinite life without degradation, and costs less than current circular lamp coatings.

Polyester (PET) covering of white light fluorescent tubes
Adtech are now able to supply a high speed coating service of polyester onto white light fluorescent tubes. This service is available for customers supplying free issue lamps for coating from 2 August 1999
